Haley (17) lives with a single mother who struggles to meet the financial demands of raising her children. She holds a 3.0 GPA and excels in volleyball while maintaining active involvement in her church. She dreams of attending college to study maternal health, but financial constraints threaten her ability to participate in a volleyball club regional tournament, a key opportunity to showcase her skills in front of college recruiters. Alice’s Kids stepped in to cover the tournament cost, allowing Haley to compete in the tournament.
“Flabbergasted! That was her reaction! Crying and all; both of us were. She has had a negative experience with asking for help in the past so I'm glad this opportunity has come through. “

Eric (16) is passionate about hunting and has been doing so illegally due to lack of resources. He was in need of $80 to cover the cost of a hunter safety class and a West Virginia Sportsman Package. Alice's Kids stepped in to provide a gift card to cover these expenses, allowing Eric to pursue hunting legally. The student's aunt, who recently became his legal guardian, was excited and supportive, even driving him to his hunter education course.
“After completing the course, Eric went hunting with his uncle and successfully harvested two deer, including a nine-point buck. This support not only enabled the student to follow his passion legally but also strengthened his relationship with his family. The gift card helped foster a sense of care and stability in the student's life, contributing to his academic and personal progress.”

Michael (8) lives with his single mother, a domestic violence survivor, who is raising five children while working full-time at McDonald’s. He is a kind-hearted, hardworking boy, and wanted to play football. His mom’s heart was breaking because she could not afford the team jersey. Despite the financial hardship, he remains supportive of his mom. Alice's Kids stepped in to cover the cost, enabling him to join the team.
“My student is so eager for Fridays to come because he gets to wear his football jersey to school with all the other boys. He came to show me each of the last two Fridays that he was wearing his awesome jersey with his name on the back. I saw his family at the first football game, sitting in lawn chairs and cheering him on. It was so nice to see them enjoying the opportunity almost as much as he is. Alice’s Kids not only made a positive difference in his life, but for the whole family!

Rebecca, a hardworking 17-year-old straight-A student and varsity basketball player, needed professional attire to attend scholarship interviews. Coming from a low-income family with parents working full-time at a fast-food restaurant, she lacked the resources to compete with her more fortunate peers in presenting herself professionally. Alice’s Kids provided funds for a suit and shoes.
"This assistance helped Rebecca make a strong first impression during these interviews. With your support, Rebecca has secured several scholarships and will attend California State Polytechnic University, majoring in architecture. The assistance boosted her confidence and helped her pursue her academic dreams."
